The Nechranice water work is located on the Ohře River, between the towns Kadaň and atec. It is significant for its poured dike which is the longest in Central Europe, it is 3,280 m long. The stretch of water itself is of 3,211 acres. This water work was built in 1961–1968, originally for industrial purposes. At present it goes through an important development in the area of tourism.

Nowadays, the Nechranice Dam, its south bank in the Vikletice area, offers 7 camping facilities with complete accommodation possibilities, either in bungalows and cabins, or in own tents and caravans.
There are many recreational, as well as fishing and water sports facilities available. The water surface is mostly sought by yachtsman and surfers, thanks to its remarkably favorable climatic conditions. It is popular destination for cycling tourists.
There are significant historical towns Kadaň and atec located near the Nechranice Dam. In these, there are some comfortable accommodation facilities available.
